Valia Honolulu is turning 3!!!

 

Every year for our birthday, we partner with a non-profit organization to give back! With Black Friday so close to our Anniversary, we really wanted to make the occasion more personal and not just another day where we offer a shopping discount. We wanted this to be special for us and special for you. This year (and we hope for many more years!) we have partnered with YWCA O‘ahu! 

 

Here's why! 

I was invited on a tour of YWCA O‘ahu earlier this year by our friend and neighbor, Jane Murao of Haul 2 Hi. I instantly fell in love with the building, the mission and the heart of this non-profit organization. Of course, with most organizations, the heart is found in the people. I have encountered so many amazing women in my short exposure to the organization. I know I still have so much more to learn about the programs and services YWCA O‘ahu provides to the community! 

 

YWCA O‘ahu is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice freedom and dignity for all. The organization provides incredible programs for women all over the island. I am in awe of the amazing programs from health and fitness to professional development to small business help to furlough programs that allow women to successfully transition from prison into the community.

One of our huge missions here at Valia Honolulu is to MAKE WOMEN FEEL AMAZING THROUGH CLOTHES. Simple as that. Clothing can be the most amazing confidence booster and nothing speaks more to that than YWCA O‘ahu's Dress for Success Program!

DRESS FOR SUCCESS

We'll be serving as a donation site for one of YWCA O‘ahu's programs, Dress for Success! The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. We will happily take donations of gently used women's business apparel, shoes, unused makeup or underwear and accessories such as handbags, scarves and jewelry.

 

To thank you for your donation, Valia Honolulu will offer 5% off your in-store purchase for each piece donated, up to 25% off! You can redeem your discount right away or we'll give you a voucher valid through December 3rd, Giving Tuesday.

Can't make our event or want to support in another way?

 

Starting November 18th, we will be launching a new t-shirt specially designed for strong women everywhere! You'll be able to purchase this shirt in-store and online! 30% of the proceeds of each t-shirt sold will be donated to YWCA O‘ahu.  With this shirt, we hope to remind women of their individual strength as well as our strength in numbers. When one succeeds we all succeed.
